Step 1: Make sure all power to the spa pool is switched off at the wall.
Step 2: When filling your spa for the first time, close all drains and remove the cartridge from the filter compartment.
Step 3: Soak the new filter in water. This must be submerged for a minimum of 30 minutes. This removes any air from the filter, which may cause damage to the pumps and spa components.
Step 4: Fill up the spa with water by putting the hose down the centre of the filter compartment. This will minimise air loss in the equipment by filling through the heater, pumps and jets, pushing most of the air out the lines.
Step 5: Fill the spa to approximately 6 inches from the top with regular tap water.
Step 6: Once the water has been filled and the filter has been placed, you can turn on the spa at the wall. Your spa will perform a self-diagnostic check and go into priming mode.
Step 7: When the control panel displays “PR”, do the following: Push the Jets button and let run for 10 seconds at a slow speed. Then push the Jets button again and let the pumps run at a high speed for 10 seconds.
Step 8: Press the Jets button again to turn off the pumps and leave the pumps off for 10-15 seconds.
Step 9: Repeat steps 7 & 8 until water is flowing from all jets and all air is removed from the plumbing.
Step 10: Now your Cal Spa spa pool is all ready. Enjoy!
